System Components
Johns Brothers Security regularly installs systems to employ closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras. Our CCTV installations provide surveillance in areas that need monitoring such as banks, factories, military installations, schools, churches, veterinary clinics, museums and a wide range of retail stores. We are installing with greater frequency a more advanced form of CCTV, utilizing Digital Video Recorders (DVR), to provide recording of greatly extended time frames. The variety of quality and performance options and extra features (such as motion-detection and email alerts) is not only impressive, it is most cost-effective. Off-site or remote review on a recorded or live basis has become a prime requirement of the more sophisticated systems we install.
Recent developments in CCTV involve the use of megapixel digital still cameras that can take 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution images of the focused scene on time lapse or motion detection bases. Images taken with digital still cameras have higher resolutions than those taken with the typical video camera and are transferred automatically to a computer every few seconds. Images may be monitored remotely if the computer is connected to a network. This closed-circuit digital photography (CCDP) is more suited for capturing and saving recorded photographs, whereas closed-circuit television (CCTV) is more suitable for live monitoring purposes.
